What this explorer is—and is not

This proof of concept materialises a topic-first view of the BMJ hackathon article snapshot. Phrases are extracted from titles and abstracts, counted once per article, and compared month by month as a share of all eligible portfolio articles.

Included in this snapshot

• Searchable and filterable topic small multiples.
• Topic timelines, journal breadth, related topics, and evidence.
• Side-by-side comparison using the same monthly denominator.
• Conservative spelling and phrase-variant canonicalisation.

Deliberately outside this POC

• Incremental rebuilds and scheduled refresh workflows.
• Multi-year ingestion and claims about terminology drift.
• Production monitoring and automated data-quality auditing.
• Editorial-policy, forecast, or acceptance-probability claims.

Those are productionisation steps, not hidden runtime dependencies. The page reads exact, precomputed objects from the existing private portfolio-intelligence service.
